“Imperial blaze”

Sean Paul
(Atlantic/Warner)

Upon the release of his last album, The Trinity, in 2005 Sean Paul expressed how his next album would not be the dancefloor flirty music we’re used to hear from him but instead reflect the life(and violence) in his home country, Jamaica.

It’s dissapointing to establish that Sean somewhere along the road forgot his intentions as the most critical tracks are titled as “Daddy’s home” or “Wine baby wine”..

“Imperial BLAZE”?
Neverthless it’s a great album! Gone are light-reagge in favour for the dancehall and the beats are heavier over all. Gone are also the excessive material and this Mr Paul has Stephen ”Di Genius” McGregor, the producer of more then half of tracks, for.

9/10
