Review: Muse -”The resistance”

Posted By ontheroad @ September 20, 2009 @ 8:03 am

Rock

“The resistance”
Muse
(Warner)

The British trio’s fifth album finishes off with a symphony in three parts.

With Hollowood string invoking the european music heritage of classical music, romantic(silly..)lyrics and verses and riffs blown out of proportion to fit the whole stadium experience it’s at least, well entertaining.

I think thewhole trio sould wear that out of space jacket

It’s hard to neglect references to QUEEN and overall they are not totally “out there”. Suprising!

Best track “United states of euroasia”.

Review: Takida -”The darker instinct”.

POP/Rock
“The darker instinct”
Takida
(Universal)
The follow-up to the Swedes big success, “Bury the lies” would’ve, according to himself, be much “darker” then his first.

Dark?
The promised darkness fail to come however and instead we get the superslick high-school-rock we got nagged to death with before. It’s soul less and mainstreem over the tops.

“Imperial blaze”
Sean Paul
(Atlantic/Warner)
Upon the release of his last album, The Trinity, in 2005 Sean Paul expressed how his next album would not be the dancefloor flirty music we’re used to hear from him but instead reflect the life(and violence) in his home country, Jamaica.
It’s dissapointing to establish that Sean somewhere along the road forgot his […]

Since “Play”, his hit-album, Moby have been a man without a compass. This time he fumbles away to the chillout lounge(from the dance floor) but unfortunately his beats don’t follow.

Get out of the bubble Moby!

Raging Morrissey left the stage..

On their third album in a row the Swedish quartet lets loose all the way. You get their floating rock, dancing soul and whining pair-dancing tracks.

Soul
“Never said I was an angel”
Pauline
(Bonnier/BAM)

Confused Pauline?
6 years after the Swedish soul artists debut the album-title hints a more confident, flirty tone from the artist. That’s also something the lyrics witness about but the music however don’t.
The sound is a mix between pop, soul, ska and R&B and sometimes successful like on the hit track […]

Swedish Mattias Edlund, the singer who ten years ago sent his dog in to outer space in that Motorhomes video is back. On I am John he’s accompanied Jocke and Markus from Kent and Andreas from Popsicle. It’s a flirt to emo-pop, radio-friendly emo-pop and somehow very bland. Big disappointment.

TV-stations ban Ozzy’s new show before it gone up!

Named “Osbourne: Reloaded” many TV-stations states the show include to much “bad language” and “inappropriate content” which pretty much is the content of the stars success according to me..
In the first episode of the show, this time partly recorded with studio-audience, a young man gets tricked into making out with an elderly and to quote […]

“Fatboy Slim” next in line for rehab.

Can’t say I’m suprised, the English Fatboy also known as Norman Cook have looked pretty worn out lately and as his manager confirms it’s because of his Alcohol-abuse.

Earlier Cook commented his abuse “sometimes it feels undignified but I never seem to get tired of getting drunk”. He’s at a clinic in South-England.

Balancing on the thin line between overfull or hungry for more this is the U2 we’re used to. Recorded allover the world(New York, London and Fez -Marocco) and over a long period of time this fact can however be heard in the album, it’s not as “complete” as we’re used to. […]
